not replace the program itself, the USB will function ordinarily.

Information technology appears that Microsoft has taken steps to completely prevent WDO from
operation on W7 PCs now.
Recently, with an old copy of the WDO programalready installed on your
Media USB, yous could update definitions on the USB (only iii deportment),
and the USB would function OK. Not anymore. Fifty-fifty with justthree deportment
on the update performance, which means that theprogram itself is non disturbed,
it gives "definitions out of date". Probably from a poisoned update. ???
It seems that I recall that "Rubber Scanner" quit functioning on XP, sometime
before XP went over the hill as well.

Microsoft has made it clear since Windows 7 released onOct 22, 2009 that end-of-support (Lifecycle as they term it) would be January xiv, 2020.

Only those oblivious to these postings and the generally consistent Microsoft policies of back up for an operating system version for 10 years might exist surprised.
Microsoft has also changed with Windows 10 to a much faster phaseout of support for intermediate versions, but continued support for the hardware as long as it functions and inside the limitations that particular hardware has.
Those with Windows 7 or 8.x were offered a free upgrade to Windows 10 for a yr between July 2015 to 2016 that would accept provided continued support as long as that hardware was able to be supported. Many chose to take this free offer and moved ahead, while others chose non to, but that was the option.
